Anton Karnbaum
Anton Karnbaum (born September 27, 1886 ; † 1967 ) was a German teacher and ministerial official.
Career
After studying and doing his doctorate in 1923 at the University of Erlangen , Karnbaum entered the Bavarian school service. In 1929 he was appointed to the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture . During the time of National Socialism he was dismissed for not belonging to the NSDAP .
In 1945 he returned to the State Ministry and took over the leadership of the secondary school department with the rank of ministerial councilor . He played a key role in the reconstruction of the Bavarian higher education system after the end of the war. He was a member of the school committee of the Standing Conference of Education Ministers of the Länder and was its chairman for a long time. He was also the chairman of the State Examination Office for Teachers. He retired with the rank of Ministerial Councilor.
He was a member of the Catholic student associations KStV Rhenania Erlangen and KStV Ottonia Munich.
Publications
Karnbaum was the author of the years 1938 and 1939 of the Bavarian Philologists' Yearbook (yearbook of teachers in Bavaria's secondary schools). In the magazine for Bavarian regional history , volume 15/2, he wrote in 1949 the contribution The situation of the secondary schools in Bavaria after the war (pages 244-249).
