Anton Hugo Krutisch (born May 2, 1921 in Vienna ; † September 19, 1978 ) was an Austrian homeland poet and humorist.

Life

Anton Krutisch grew up in Vienna's 12th district of Meidling , where he also attended compulsory school.

After his apprenticeship as a building and gallantry fitter , he was drafted into the Wehrmacht in 1940 . After being wounded in World War II , where a lower leg had to be amputated, he was never able to practice the profession he had learned. So he worked as an accountant and finally at the Social Insurance Agency.

He also wrote short stories and glosses over and over again. As a fan of the Meidlinger football club SC Wacker Wien , he also wrote sports reports and bulletins. He was accepted into the sports journalists' group in 1950. Above all, he was enthusiastic about the Wienerlied . From 1950 to 1970 Krutisch was chairman of the social club D 'guaten Weana . He also appeared at various events as an emcee .

It was not until he was 50 that he began to write dialect poems with a cheerful and contemplative content, which he also recited himself. His subjects mostly came from Krutisch's closer home, Meidling. Some of his poems were set to music as Viennese songs. He became known through appearances with Heinz Conrads on television, as well as with the rascals with whom he appeared. A record with a reading of his specialties was also released. He has enjoyed great popularity since that time.

In 1978 he died at the age of 58 after a short illness. His grave is in Vienna's Südwestfriedhof (group 61, row 2, number 28).
