Anton Mertl

Anton A. Mertl (born February 21, 1946 in Kelheim ) is a German lawyer.

Life

Mertl passed the Abitur at the Ignaz-Günther-Gymnasium in Rosenheim and studied law at the University of Munich between 1965 and 1970 . During this time he became a member of the KBSt.V. Rhaetia . After the first state examination in 1970, he spent his legal traineeship with a lawyer full-time. After the 2nd state examination in law, he was admitted to the bar in 1973 and set up as an independent lawyer in Rosenheim. He has been a specialist lawyer for labor law since 1989. Since 2004 he has been running a law firm with two partners, including his son Dominik Mertl.

In addition to his professional activity, Mertl held a leading position in several regional and national professional associations. Since 1984 he has been chairman of the Rosenheim Lawyers' Association. After he was admitted to the Presidium of the Bavarian Bar Association in 1996, he was elected President in 2000. Since 2008 he has also been Vice President of the German Lawyers' Association . He was also a permanent member of various labor law committees and was involved in legal hearings in the Bavarian state parliament .

Honors

For his decades of service to the benefit of his profession, he was on 10 March 2009 in the Munich Palace of Justice by the Bavarian Minister of Justice Beate Merk with the Merit Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.
