Otto Frowein (born March 27, 1899 in Barmen ; † December 31, 1945 ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ) and SA brigade leader .

After attending school, Frowein learned the profession of electrical engineer . As a teenager he took part in the First World War with the Reserve Infantry Regiment 16 and the Infantry Regiment 31 . In 1925 he joined the NSDAP and on January 1, 1926, he joined the paramilitary arm of the party, the Sturmabteilung (SA). In this he was promoted to Sturmführer in 1927 and in 1931 commissioned with the management of Sturmbannes I / 171. From 1932 to January 1934 Frowein led the SA Standard 171 in Wuppertal.

After the transfer of power to the National Socialists, Frowein received a mandate in the National Socialist Reichstag in November 1933 , which he held until the end of Nazi rule in spring 1945. In the SA he was responsible for standards in Geilenkirchen (January 1934 to September 1935) and Aachen (September 1935 to April 1937) before moving to Berlin in May 1937, where he took over the management of the SA standard " Horst Wessel ". In April 1944, Frowein, at that time assigned to the SA Group Lower Saxony , was promoted to SA Brigadführer .

Frowein's exact date of death is unknown; December 31, 1945 was set as the official date of death by a decision of the Wuppertal District Court in February 1957.
