Anton Merziger (born September 20, 1887 in Püttlingen , † August 19, 1956 in Saarlouis ) was a Saarland politician of the Christian People's Party of Saarland (CVP).

After the Second World War in the French-occupied Saarland, the businessman was one of the founding members of the CVP. In 1947 he was elected to the newly founded state parliament of Saarland , to which he belonged until his death.

In April 1949 he succeeded Walter Bloch as Mayor of Saarlouis. Among other things, he pushed through the reconstruction of the city and the removal of the slums. The purchase of the Canisianum and the construction of the Saarlouis town hall also fell during his tenure . After the Saar vote in 1955 , which turned out to be a defeat for the CVP, which ruled alone, Merziger was replaced as mayor in March 1956.

The Anton-Merziger-Ring, built in 1968 in the city center of Saarlouis, is named after him in his honor.
