Anton Munding

Anton Munding (born March 20, 1903 in Günzkofen , † 1976 in Oberndorf am Neckar ) was a German painter .

Munding, who was active in the middle of the 20th century, created around 3,000 pictures, some in gouache technique, some in oil on canvas. His landscape paintings show areas such as the Bregenzerwald , the Lake Constance area around Nonnenhorn , the Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried , the upper Danube valley , the Swabian Alb and the Black Forest . Due to his preference for lakes, ponds, peat cuttings and biotopes in Pfrunger-Burgweiler Ried, Munding is also known as “Birkenanton” or “Riedmaler”. He died in 1976 in Oberndorf am Neckar.
