Anton Plate
Anton Plate (born January 4, 1950 in Hildesheim ) is a German composer .
biography
Anton Plate studied school music from 1968 to 1972, then music theory (with Alfred Koerppen ) and composition (with Heinrich Sutermeister ) in Hanover. In 1976 he was a Rome scholarship holder at the Villa Massimo ; from 1982 to 2011 he taught as a professor of music theory at the Hanover University of Music and Drama . The opera Lisabetta and Lorenzo was written in 1983 based on the Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio , staged by Jean Soubeyran , who collaborated on the text. Between 1999 and 2003, Plate wrote the orchestral works You Must Finish Your Journey Alone , Passing , Leaving , At The River and Abschied for the legendary New Year's Eve concerts "Who Is Afraid Of 20th Century Music?" On behalf of Ingo Metzmacher and the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra .
