Anton Ségur-Cabanac

Anton Ségur-Cabanac (born May 12, 1929 in Vienna ; † August 1, 2011 there ) was an Austrian ambassador .

Life

Anton Ségur-Cabanac is the son of Count Viktor Segur-Cabanac. He studied law and received his doctorate in law from the University of Innsbruck in 1952 . In 1961 he was Vice Consul in Naples . In 1966, Anton Ségur-Cabanac was the legation secretary and headed the department for decorations a. Order in the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs . In 1969 Anton Ségur-Cabanac was the second class secretary of the embassy under Wolfgang Hoeller in Madrid . From 1974 to July 1976 he was ambassador to Santiago de Chile . Hungary and Bulgaria had broken off relations with the regime of Augusto Pinochet Ugarte and Austria exercised the protective power function for both . The Bulgarian embassy in Santiago de Chile was under the administration of Anton Ségur-Cabanac when 30 members of the opposition sought refuge there in 1976. After denying them asylum, they were arrested on leaving the building and Anton Ségur-Cabanac was recalled.

In July 1980 he was transferred to the Consulate General in Zurich as Consul General . From 1989 to 1994 he headed the Austrian consulate in Nuremberg with the consular district: Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg.
