Anton Schwabe

Anton Schwabe , also Anthonius Suevius (* in Lausitz ; † 1605 in Ratzeburg ) was a Lutheran clergyman and writer.

Life

Anton Schwabe was a deacon at the Marienkirche in Stapel in what is now the municipality of Amt Neuhaus until 1587 . He was introduced in the same year by the Lauenburg superintendent Gerhard Sagittarius († 1592) as a deacon and teacher at the St. Petri Church in Ratzeburg. In 1596 he published his dramatic Christmas story in Uelzen , which extends to the murder of children in Bethlehem under King Herod . It is passed down through a note from Karl Goedeke in his outline on the history of German poetry . In 1599 he became pastor at St. Georg auf dem Berge in Ratzeburg, where he stayed until his death.
