Anton Tautscher

Anton Tautscher (born January 17, 1906 in Veitsch , Styria , † February 13, 1976 in Graz ) was an Austrian economist and professor at the University of Graz .

Life

Anton Tautscher was born as the third son of his parents in Veitsch. The experience of the rural and industrial world in the vicinity of the Veitsch magnesite factory shaped his attitude to social and economic policy issues early on. From 1917 to 1924 he attended the prince-bishop high school in Graz.

After graduation, he began studying political science and was awarded a doctorate in 1929. pole. PhD. In 1930 Tautscher joined the library service at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz and graduated in 1932 with a doctorate in law from the law faculty of the University of Graz. In 1940 he completed his habilitation. From 1940 to 1942 he did military service.

In 1948 he left the Graz University Library after becoming Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Graz in 1946. The later governor Josef Krainer junior was an assistant at Tautscher for a long time in the early 1960s.

Anton Tautscher is buried in the St. Leonhard Cemetery in Graz .
