Anton Ulbrich (art historian)

Anton Ulbrich (born February 14, 1867 in Ruppersdorf near Reichenberg , Northern Bohemia ; † April 22, 1939 in Königsberg (Prussia) ) was a German art historian.

Life

Ulbrich was initially a bricklayer and, after attending the Higher State Trade School in Reichenberg, studied architecture at the Dresden University of Technology in 1890/91 . There he worked as an assistant and from 1893 as a teacher at the technical center in Hildburghausen , from 1898 at the building trade school in Königsberg. In 1923, however, he had to give up his job as a teacher due to a hearing impairment. With a doctorate in Berthold Haendcke he was in 1901 by the University of Königsberg to Dr. phil. PhD . Appointed associate professor in 1911 , from 1913 he held lectures on art history at the Königsberg Art Academy . From 1911 to 1921 he was also head of the arts and crafts museum of the Central Commercial Association for the province of East Prussia in Königsberg. He received the Kant plaque.
