Anton Vollert

Christian August Anton Vollert (born January 11, 1828 in Allstedt ; † May 6, 1897 in Gera ) was a Thuringian statesman and author.

Live and act

Born as the son of a businessman, Vollert attended grammar school in the Roßleben monastery and studied Protestant theology in Halle from 1843 , later law at the University of Jena . During his studies in 1843/44 he became a member of the fraternity on the Fürstenkeller and in 1846 was a co-founder of the fraternity Germania Jena . In 1848 he was a member of Germania at the Second Wartburg Festival . In 1850 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . In 1858 he was a district judge in Arnstadt and in 1868 went to Eisenach as a judge of appeal before becoming a councilor at the general court of appeal in Jena in 1875. In 1877 he was appointed to Gera as a Privy Councilor of State. In 1887 he became a Privy Councilor . From 1892 to 1896, as Princely Russian Minister of State, he was responsible for justice, churches and schools in Gera.

He was also the editor of the New Pitaval and published crime stories.
