Anton Wübbena-Mecima

Anton Engelke Wübbena-Mecima (born October 31, 1920 in St. Georgiwold near Weener ; † July 6, 2002 ibid) was a German CDU politician . He was district administrator of the district of Leer and a member of the state parliament of Lower Saxony.

Life

Wübbena-Mecima attended elementary school in St. Georgiwold and then secondary school and an agricultural college in Weener. On November 16, 1939, he applied for membership and on March 1, 1940, he became a member of the NSDAP , membership number 7.513.703. From 1940 to 1945 he was a soldier in World War II . In 1942 he took over his parents' farm. Wübbena-Mecima joined the CDU in 1947. In 1951 he became senior judge of the united Großsoltborger Sielacht. Since 1971 he has been the deputy honorary senior judge of the Sielacht Rheiderland . As a representative of the district of Leer , Wübbena-Mecima was a member of the Ostfriesland-Unterems eV economic development agency

Wübbena-Mecima was councilor from 1946 and from 1952 to March 1973 mayor of St. Georgiwold and also councilor of the city of Weener. From 1965 to March 1973 he was district administrator, then deputy district administrator of the district of Leer. In the seventh to ninth electoral term, he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from 1970 to 1982. He moved up in the tenth electoral term and was a member of the state parliament again from July 3, 1985 to June 20, 1986.
