Anton Würzl

Anton Würzl (born August 18, 1925 in Vienna ; † July 3, 2001 ) was Ministerialrat in the Austrian Federal Ministry for Trade, Commerce and Industry and an author in the field of the Austrian tourism industry.

Life

In 1956, Würzl was one of the founding members of the Federation of Austrian Hospitality (BÖG; today Best Austrian Hospitality ).

Würzl was a civil servant and later Ministerialrat of the Ministry of Commerce in Vienna. There he worked from 1970 to 1983 exclusively under the social democratic minister Josef Staribacher and was a permanent representative of the ministry in discussions on Austria advertising .

On behalf of the ministry, among other things, he supported the founding of the Hogast purchasing cooperative for Austria's hotel and hospitality industry, which was founded in 1976, and was a sought-after speaker on tourism topics throughout Austria.

In 1992, Würzl was the founding president of the Pannonia Club, which describes itself as the society for maintaining Austro-Hungarian relations. Anton Würzl was a long-time lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business on the subject of tourism policy and, as Josef Mazanec ( Module University Vienna ) emphasizes, played a key role in shaping the regularly organized Austrian Tourism Days.

Würzl was also one of the scientific employees of the "cultural information system " aeiou .
