Anton Wachsmann

Anton Wachsmann (* around 1765 in Silesia , † around 1836 in Berlin ) was a Prussian draftsman and engraver.

Life

Wachsmann studied at the Berlin Academy and was later a drawing teacher for the children of Friedrich Wilhelm III. Among other things, he created the illustrations for Friedrich Gilly's collection of essays and messages relating to architecture , the two volumes of which were published in 1799 and 1800, and the history of the Royal Potsdam Military Orphanage from its creation to the present day. Published for the establishment's centenary celebration in November 1824 , Berlin 1824. His works can be found in the Berlin Kupferstichkabinett and the Berlin State Library . Wachsmann also wrote a small school book, which was simply called the ABC book . He made 12 portraits of members of the Hohenzollern family based on models from the royal palaces, and in February 1805 completed a family painting of all the royal children.
