Anton von Avanzini

Anton von Avanzini (* 1890 ; † 1969 ) was an Austrian local politician of the Economic Party and from 1922 to 1928 mayor of Wörgl ( Tyrol ).

Life

Avanzini studied after graduating from the University of Innsbruck and at the University of Munich Law , his studies he concluded with the graduation to the Dr. iur. from. He was a member of the Corps Gothia Innsbruck (1907) and later also the Suevia Munich .

Avanzini began his work as a lawyer in Wörgl, where he married Olga Mulej in 1915 and was politically active. In 1922, when Avanzini's party was able to achieve 13 seats in the municipal elections of Wörgl on November 5, he was elected mayor.

During his tenure, the so-called Citizens' School was started on September 16, 1923 and at the same time the construction of a building intended for this purpose - today's Hauptschule 1 - began with the groundbreaking on September 3, 1926 and commissioning in 1927. In 1925 Avanzini commissioned Johann Seisl to create a forest cemetery. During his tenure in 1926, the substation for the electrification of the railway systems was built on the station grounds and the Wörgl open-air swimming pool in Augasse on the initiative of the former Beautification Association (predecessor of the tourism association). In 1924 the hospital under Avanzini was given a third floor according to plans by Ferdinand Mayr and in 1926 another wing.
