Antonello da Serravalle (verifiably 1485) was an Italian painter and fresco artist .

Antonello da Serravalle was a verifiably active painter who worked in Veneto , known for a fresco signed in 1485 in the parish church of San Andrea di Bigonzo in Vittorio Veneto (formerly Serravalle). This shows a “Mary with the child, two saints and God the Father holding a crown” and bears the inscription: “Hoc opus fecit fieri dominus presbiter Benedictus de Comittibus Cenam Canonicus feltrensis et plaebanus Serravallis, anno domini MIIIILXXXV. The quinto mensis novembris. Antonellus pinxit. ”A second fresco in the same church is also attributed to him for stylistic reasons. Another plaque from the same hand, now in Baltimore , is also labeled “Antonellus pinxit”. Based on these works, the master's oeuvre could be expanded to include other works. These show the image of a rather mediocre, provincial painter who combines various influences from the schools of Venice , Padua and Verona . One recognizes a stylistic similarity to Andrea Bellunello and Francesco Benaglio in his works . However, he is closest to the Bergamese painter Antonio Zago who worked in Sacile . Because of this proximity, an attempt was made to put Antonello in a direct relationship with him. Stylistic comparisons of the works of Antonello and Antonio Zago seem to show that they are one and the same person. So far, however, there is no final proof for this thesis.
