Antoni Banaś

Antoni Banaś (born June 11, 1873 in Kalwarya , Galicia , † June 3, 1936 in Kraków ) was a Polish-Austrian politician, district judge, landowner and member of the Austrian House of Representatives .

Life

Banaś was born as the son of the landowner and merchant Józef Banaś. He attended the Jan Sobieski High School in Cracow until 1893 and then studied law at the University of Cracow between 1893 and 1897 . In 1902, Banaś received his doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) In Cracow . He subsequently performed his military service as a one-year volunteer with the "kuk Galician Infantry Regiment" Count Daun "No. 56" in Krakow. After completing his studies, he entered the court service in Galicia and in 1898 was an auscultant at the Kalwarya District Court. In 1899 Banaś moved to the Wadowice District Court before he was assigned as an adjunct to the Myślenice District Court in 1900 . In 1902 he came to the Kalwarya District Court as an adjunct, where he also assumed the office of district judge in 1908. Banaś rose to the board of the Kalwarya District Court in 1913, but was given leave of absence that same year. Nevertheless, in 1916 he was appointed regional judge. After the outbreak of the First World War, Banaś was in military service from 1916, where he was employed as a first lieutenant auditor at the field war tribunal of the Kraków military command.

From 1911 Banaś was a member of the Wadowice District Council . He stood as a candidate in the Imperial Council election in 1911 in the 37 constituency Galicia chosen for the Polish People's Party and was on 17 July 1911 as a member of the Austrian parliament. He was a member of the House of Representatives until November 12, 1918. He belonged to the Polish Club and was a member of the Polish People's Party Piast ( Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe Piast ).

Banaś was Roman Catholic. Denomination and married Zofia Sterkowiczówna in 1911. He became the father of five sons and one daughter.
