Antonia Fässler

Antonia Fässler (born July 13, 1969 in Appenzell ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

Fässler grew up with three siblings in a typical business family in Appenzell, where she also attended schools and passed her high school diploma in 1989 . Until 1995 she studied political science and international relations at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and graduated with a licentiate degree (lic. Rer. Publ.).

She then worked for six years in the general secretariat of CVP Switzerland, where she was in charge of social security, family policy, economic and agricultural policy. In 2002 she became Deputy General Secretary in the Health Department of the Canton of St. Gallen , in 2004 Department Secretary of the Health and Social Department of the Canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden and in 2007 Head of the Cantonal Health Office.

On April 25, 2010, Fässler was elected to the professional ethics committee of the Canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden as the successor to the resigned Werner Ebneter . Since then she has been the governor and head of the health and social department. Eleven years after Ruth Metzler, she is only the second woman to belong to the Innerrhod government.

Fässler is a member of the CVP Appenzell Innerrhoden, the Women's Forum and the Cantonal Trade Association and has been a member of the Cantonal Matura Commission since 2010. She lives in Appenzell.
