Daniel Fässler (born August 22, 1960 in Appenzell ; entitled to live there ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ).

Life

After finishing high school in Appenzell, Fässler completed a law degree at the University of Bern , which he completed with a doctorate. For his dissertation he was awarded the Professor Walther Hug Prize for the best legal dissertation in Switzerland. After being admitted to the bar, he worked as secretary of the State Economic Commission of the Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and as a lawyer in Zurich , from 1994 with his own law firm in St. Gallen . 1999–2004 Fässler was part-time judge at the Appenzell District Court , 2004–2008 at the Appenzell Innerrhoden Cantonal Court . Fässler 2008 stationary Landammann the Ethics Committee of the canton of Appenzell Inner Rhodes voted that he presided from 2010 to 2012 for an initial two-year period as the reigning Landammann. He heads the Department of Economic Affairs. From 2000–2010 he was a member or president of the canton's bar exam committee. In the parliamentary elections in 2011 , Fässler was elected to the National Council with a large majority of the votes cast .

On April 28, 2013, the ordinary parish of Appenzell Innerrhoden elected Fässler again as governing Mayor . After only one year of interruption, Fässler succeeded Carlo Schmid again as governing governor , who withdrew from politics after 29 years as governor . In the 2019 elections , Fässler was elected to the Council of States .

Fässler is married, has three children and lives in Appenzell .
