Antonio Arcioni (Cardinal)
Antonio Arcioni , also Archeoni (* in Rome ; † July 26, 1405 ibid) was an Italian cardinal of the Roman Church . He was bishop of Ascoli Piceno .
Life
Before he was appointed bishop, he was Vicar General of the Territorial Abbey of Montecassino .
In 1380 he was elected Bishop of Aquino . He took over the bishopric of Ascoli Piceno on February 6, 1387. On October 10, 1390 he took over the diocese of Arezzo for one year . In 1399 he is again named as Bishop of Ascoli Piceno and held a synod there, he held the bishopric until his elevation to the rank of cardinal. In 1400 he is named as the Pope's vicar for the city of Rome.
On June 12, 1405, Pope Innocent VII appointed him cardinal priest of the titular church of San Pietro in Vincoli .
He died on July 26, 1405 in Rome and was buried next to the altar of St. Jerome in the papal Basilica Liberiana .
