Antonio Borosini

Antonio Borosini (around 1660 in Venice , Republic of Venice - after 1711 in Vienna , Holy Roman Empire ) was an Italian opera singer ( tenor ) and composer .

Life

Borosini became a member of the Venetian Capella San Marco in 1679 (led by Natale Monferrato ). From there he left Venice in 1686 to go to Modena as the singer of the ducal chapel. In 1692 he was appointed to the Imperial Court in Vienna, where he can be traced back to 1711.

As an opera singer he worked at various Venetian opera houses for at least the 1706/07 season. Four arias from his work as a composer have been preserved, the manuscripts are kept in the Bibliotheca Estensis in Modena.

His son was the opera singer Francesco Borosini (around 1690 – after 1725), his wife Rosa Borosini (around 1693 – after 1740) his daughter-in-law.
