Antonio Carámbula Sagasti (born November 7, 1960 ) is a Uruguayan politician .

Antonio Carámbula graduated from the Universidad de la República (UdelaR) with a degree in veterinary medicine . Afterwards, however, he did not work in this profession, but began studying business administration. From 1995 he worked in the administration of Montevideo. He then took over the post of Director for Tourism and Sports (Director General de Secretaría del Ministerio de Tourismo y Deporte) from 2005, which he held until his resignation at the end of August 2009. In the same year he became State Secretary in the Uruguayan Ministry of Tourism and Sports for the first time. This office was reassigned to him from the end of May 2012 when the new minister of this department, Liliam Kechichián , was appointed. Carámbula is a member of the Partido Demócrata Cristiano . In January 2015, the Uruguayan President Tabaré Vázquez , who was elected on March 1, 2015, succeeded Andrés Pelaez as managing director of the Institute for the Promotion of Investment and the Export of Goods and Services ( Instituto de Promoción de Inversiones y Exportaciones de Bienes y Servicios ) "Uruguay XXI "ordered.
