Antonio Casagrande (born March 12, 1931 in Naples ) is an Italian actor and singer.

Life

The stately and sympathetic actor began as a lyric tenor and actor during the 1958/1959 season in Eduardo De Filippo's ensemble . With this he also appeared in some television plays and his first films. He later recorded two LPs, on which he a. a. embodied the fictional character "Don Libborio Occhialoni". Casagrande celebrated his greatest film success in 1967 as the Neapolitan daredevil Salvatore, who falls in love with the lush hairdresser Anita and tyrannizes her as a ghost after his death in La ragazza del bersagliere . The actor's other engagements - often in crime films - were rather inconspicuous and few and far between from the 1980s. From the end of the 1990s he was seen more often, now in television films and series.

Casagrande, who also worked occasionally as a voice actor, is the father of actor Maurizio Casagrande and a supporter of the Partito Comunista d'Italia .
