Antonio Manzini
Antonio Manzini (born August 7, 1964 in Rome ) is an Italian actor, screenwriter and novelist.
Life
Antonio Manzini attended the Accademia nazionale d'arte drammatica and studied with Andrea Camilleri . He first worked as an actor in film and television and wrote scripts. With Niccolò Ammaniti he wrote a contribution to the anthology Crimini . In 2005 he published his first novel Sangue marcio .
Manzini is the inventor of investigator Rocco Schiavone, the protagonist of a crime novel series that was also made into a film .
In 2016 there was a parliamentary initiative led by Maurizio Gasparri to stop broadcasting his Schiavone crime novels in Rai 2 .
In 2017 the Klaus Wagenbach publishing house published "Spitzentitel", a translation of "Sull'orlo del precipizio" by Antja Peter. It is a satirical story about developments in the publishing industry.
