Antonito de Araújo (* 1964 (?)) Is an East Timorese diplomat. From 2013 Araújo was the Permanent Representative of East Timor to the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP).

Career

Araújo has a degree in International Relations.

During the Indonesian occupation he worked in a bank. For the independence referendum in East Timor in 1999 he worked on behalf of the United Nations . Araújo later worked for the United Nations Interim Administration for East Timor (UNTAET) and finally for the Foreign Ministry of East Timor, which has been independent since 2002. He was one of the ministry's top 50 officials and served as director of financial administration until he was appointed director of consular affairs.

From 2007 to 2010 Araújo was a consultant in the East Timorese embassy in Lisbon . Back in East Timor, he worked as Director General for Consular Affairs. In 2013 Araújo became the permanent representative of East Timor at the CPLP, succeeding José Barreto Martins . The appointment was made on August 6th.

In 2018, Araújo worked as Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dili.
