Antonius Baldinucci SJ (born June 19, 1665 in Florence , † November 17, 1717 in Pofi , province of Frosinone) was an Italian missionary .

Career

He was the youngest son of the Florentine art historian Filippo Baldinucci . In adolescence he was portrayed by Baldassare Franceschini . In 1681 he entered the Society of Jesus in Rome . It was his great desire to be sent to the Gentile mission and to achieve martyrdom . Because of his poor health, however, he was appointed to the popular mission in the dioceses around Frascati and Viterbo . There he achieved lasting success in 448 missions. His beatification took place in 1893. According to the beatification files, several witnesses reported that Baldinucci had the ability to recognize sins that the penitent did not pronounce or had almost forgotten himself.
