The Antonius Church (Polish Kościół św. Antoniego ) is a Roman Catholic church in the Wroclaw district of Carlowitz (Polish Karłowice ). The church is located in Aleja Jana Kasprowicza .

history

Between 1897 and 1898 the Franciscan monastery was built in Carlowitz , which belonged to the Saxon Franciscan Province and from 1911 to the Silesian Franciscan Province . On October 4th, 1897, the feast of their founder, Francis of Assisi , the brothers moved into the building, which had not yet been fully completed, and in which the province's philosophical and theological studies also existed for a number of years to train their priests.

The foundation stone for the St. Antonius Church was laid on May 14, 1900. On November 12, 1901, the first service was celebrated in the church. The church building was built by the Silesian architect Ludwig Schneider (1854–1943) in the neo-Gothic style. The 34- part organ was built in 1903 by the Schweidnitz company Schlag & Söhne .
