Franz Heberer

Franz Heberer (born April 3, 1883 in Heusenstamm ; † December 31, 1955 there ) was a German architect who worked in Frankfurt am Main .

The critic

In connection with the simplified reconstruction of the Hauptwache in Frankfurt after the Second World War in 1954, Franz Heberer criticized not only the roof shape, but also other building features. In 1950 he was in correspondence with Fried Lübbecke in connection with the monument preservation implementation of the post-war planners.

Buildings and designs

  • 1912: Competition design for an extension for the Städelsches Kunstinstitut, which he won together with the architect Hermann von Hoven, who works in the Franz von Hoven architectural office; and later execution
  • 1912: Competition design for the Neue Alte Brücke (Frankfurt am Main) together with Hermann von Hoven (first prize) endowed with 4,000 marks
    • At its inauguration on August 15, 1926, Franz Heberer spoke on behalf of the architects:

“Now you're done, Brick, / after a long and serious suffering. / Now bring Honor and Glick to Frankfurt / Until the most distant times. "
