Antsla (German: Anzen ) is a rural community in the Estonian district of Võru . It has 3303 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The most famous personality from Antsla is the painter Karl Pärsimägi, who attended school in Kraavi.
structure
Antsla is the westernmost and largest municipality in the county. The place is located 35 km west-southwest of Võru . In addition to the main town of Antsla, the rural community included the 26 villages of Ähijärve, Anne, Antsu, Haabsaare, Jõepera, Kaika, Kikkaoja, Kobela, Kollino, Kraavi, Litsmetsa, Luhametsa, Lusti, Madise, Mähkli, Oe, Piisi, Rimmi, Roosiku, Savilöövi, Soome, Säre, Taberlaane, Tsooru, Vana-Antsla and Viirapalu.
With the merger with the rural community Urvaste 2017, Kassi, Kirikuküla, Koigu, Kuldre, Kõlbi, Lümatu, Pihleni, Ruhingu, Toku, Uhtjärve, Urvaste, Uue-Antsla, Vaabina and Visela were added.
Attractions
The manor house of Vana-Antsla, which has been documented since 1405, is worth seeing . In 1601, Antsla was conquered by Swedish troops. To the birth of Carl Philip (1601–1622), the youngest son of the Swedish King Charles IX. In the same year, two oaks in the twelve- hectare park remind of the property, which have been preserved to this day.
