The rural community of Võru (German: Werro ) is located within a radius of 15 km from the Estonian city of Võru . It has an area of 202.5 km² and 4,713 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
structure
The rural community includes the villages of Hannuste, Juba, Kasaritsa, Kirumpää , Kolepi, Koloreino, Kose, Kusma, Kärnamäe, Käätso, Lapi, Lompka, Loosu, Meegomäe, Meeliku, Mõisamäe, Mõksi, Navi, Nooska, Palometsa, Parks , Raudsepa, Roosisaare, Räpo, Sika, Tagaküla, Tootsi, Umbsaare, Väimela, Vagula , Vana-Nursi, Verijärve, Võlsi, Võrumõisa, Võrusoo and Väiso. The administrative center is located in the city of Võru.
Culture and sights
The lakes Navi, Alajärv and Mäejärv near Väimela are interesting for nature tourists. The two-story manor house there (built 1870–75) in the baroque style is well worth seeing . It burned down during the First World War , but was faithfully restored in 1923-25. The monument to Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald stands in the Kreutzwald Park.
