Anup Sridhar

Anup Sridhar ( Kannada : ಅನೂಪ್ ಶ್ರೀಧರ್ ; born April 11, 1983 in Bangalore , Karnataka ) is an Indian badminton player .

Life

In 1994 he first attracted attention when he was in the final of the Indian Krishna Khaitan tournament of the U13 in Chennai . While he lost in the 1994 final, he won that tournament a year later. In 1998 he won this tournament again, now starting in the U16. In the same year he also won the U16 Kwality Biscuits tournament in Bangalore . In 2004 and 2005 he won the national championships in India, in the last year also the Hungarian International . In 2006 he won the Indian title again, while in 2007 he was unable to defend it. In August 2007 he caused a sensation at the Badminton World Cup when he eliminated one of the top favorites, Taufik Hidayat , in the second round. At the Asian Cup in the same year, he finished third behind Hidayat. In 2013 he won the Czech International .
