Apaches (band)
The Apaches is a Swiss country music , rock 'n' roll , blues and Indian beat band. Its members appear dressed as Indians and deal with topics from the Indian world and the Wild West in their texts .
The band was founded in 1963 by the musician and artist Angy Burri , and Phil Carmen was also a member of the band . The band became known under the name Angy Burri & The Apaches . After winning first place at the Festival of Country Music in the Hallenstadion in 1981 , she released her first album in 1983, the single from which , the Chuck Berry Cover School Days , made it to number six on the Swiss charts .
In 1990 the band's second album, Hokahe , was released, which reached tenth place on the Swiss album charts. It achieved gold status in Switzerland and the band went on tour. The third album, Tatanka , followed in 1995 and reached number seven on the charts.
