Apliki

Apliki ( Greek Απλίκι ) is a copper mining region on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus that has existed since the late 14th century BC. Was used. The mining took place mainly in the 13th century.

Apliki caramellos

Finds of slag and bellows nozzles made of clay in Apliki Karamallos ( Late Cypriot IIC - IIIA) prove the smelting on site, but no furnaces were found. The settlement of Apliki Karamallos, built on rock terraces, is unfortunately only known from emergency excavations in the years 1938–1939 and has since been destroyed by mining. Four houses were excavated. The sprawling house A had large granaries and produced relatively rich finds, including an ivory cylinder, a cylinder seal made of steatite and a gold earring. Keswami wants to assign the house to a guard.
