The Apostolic Prefecture of Xinjiang Urumqi ( lat. : Apostolica praefectura Sinkiangensis ) is in the People's Republic of China Located Roman Catholic Apostolic Prefecture , based in Urumqi .
history
The Xinjiang-Urumqi Apostolic Prefecture was founded on February 14, 1930 by Pope Pius XI. Erected with the Apostolic Constitution Decet Romanum Pontificem from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Lanzhou as Mission sui juris Xinjiang-Ürümqi . The mission sui juris Xinjiang-Ürümqi was on May 21, 1938 by Pius XI. raised to the Apostolic Prefecture.
