Course of the road
|
The Appin Road is a main road in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales . It connects Narellan Road in Campbelltown with the Southern Freeway and Princes Highway at Bulli Pass .
course
In Campbelltown, about 45 km south-west of the center of Sydney , the Appin Road is the continuation of the 1998-built Narellan Road (S69 / Met-9) to the southeast. Above the intersection at the hospital Campbelltown pulls the road through the suburb of Bradbury by South to the place Appin , which gave it its name.
Between the Dharawal State Reserve in the north and the Cataract Dam in the south, the Appin Road then heads southeast and reaches the southern end of Bulli Pass , about 15 km north of Wollongong . There it ends at the parallel Southern Freeway (R1) and Princes Highway (S60) not far from the coast.
State of development
In Campbelltown and from there south to Appin, the road has four to six lanes. However, there are many overtaking opportunities on the two-lane stretch to the Bulli Pass.
