The Magic Trackpad is a multi-touch - trackpad of the company Apple . It was unveiled on July 27, 2010. Compared to the trackpads of the MacBook and MacBook Pro series, the Magic Trackpad is about 20% larger. On October 13, 2015, the second generation, the Magic Trackpad 2, with a Lightning interface , lithium-ion battery and Taptic Engine was released.

functionality

Like the Apple Magic Mouse, the Magic Trackpad has a multi-touch surface which, in terms of its functionality , is similar to the trackpad of the current Apple notebooks or the screens of the iPhone , iPad or iPod touch . There are several gestures that can be used to operate the computer. For example, the user can scroll by simply moving two fingers up or down . It supports gestures such as swiping through web pages like in a book or dynamic scrolling. The whole surface is also a button to click. The Magic Trackpad is made of molded aluminum and touch-sensitive and wear-resistant glass.

The trackpad is powered by two AA batteries and it is connected to a Mac via Bluetooth .

  • Mac with Bluetooth 4.0 and OS X 10.11 or later
  • iPad with iPadOS 13.4 or higher
