Apramycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that is used exclusively in veterinary medicinal products . Apramycin is approved for pigs , rabbits , sheep , cattle and chickens in countries of the European Union . It must not be used in animals from which eggs or milk are obtained for human consumption.
Examples of application areas:
- Calf: infections caused by coliform bacteria and salmonella
- Lamb: infections caused by coliform bacteria
- Pig: bacterial enteritis
- Poultry: septicemia by Escherichia coli
