April is a Finnish rock band formed in Helsinki in 2004.
Band history
The band was formed in 2004 by MikkoM (aka Machinegun) ( guitar ), Mikko Huovila ( drums ), Jaakko Pulkki ( vocals , bass ), Hakim Hietikko (vocals) and J. Fatal (guitar). She was signed to Season of Mist and Spinefarm Records in 2006 . Even before the debut album was released, she played a support tour for Bullet for My Valentine . Work on the album itself began shortly after the contract was signed. The producer was Tero Kinnunen , who already worked with Nightwish .
Just a year later, Anthems for the Rejected was followed by their second studio album, also released through Spinefarm . This time Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lövström , who have already worked with In Flames , Refused and Poison the Well , were hired as producers .
Then it became quiet around April. The official website was taken offline in 2009.
Music genre
April is musically a mixture of several harder styles and somewhere between softer Metalcore in the style of Bullet for My Valentine and harder Alternative Metal or Nu Metal . Influences come from newer thrash metal , alternative rock and emocore . Classical elements, such as the integration of cello and violin , are also used, especially in the ballads.
