The Arab Alliance for Freedom and Democracy ( AAFD , Arabic التحالف العربي للحرية والديمقراطية) is a network of liberal political parties , organizations and activists from Arab countries .

It was founded in Cairo in 2008 under the name Network Arab Liberals (NAL). Wael Nawara of the Egyptian al-Ghad party was elected its first president. The network was given its current name in 2011 - in response to the negative connotation that the term 'liberal' has in some Arab countries.
