The Arbab Niaz Stadium is a cricket stadium in Peshawar , Pakistan .

Capacity & Infrastructure

The stadium has a capacity of 20,000 seats and is equipped with floodlights. The two wicket ends are the Pavilion End and the College End .

International cricket

The first One-Day International was held in this stadium in November 1984 between India and India . Since then it has hosted numerous international meetings. The first test match was held here in September 1995 between Pakistan and Zimbabwe . At the Cricket World Cup 1987 one, at the Cricket World Cup 1996 two preliminary round matches were played here. After the attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore in 2009, international games in Pakistan were suspended altogether. The last time the International Cricket Council raised concerns about the stadium and its facilities was in 2006.

National cricket

The stadium is the home of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistani national cricket. In the Pakistan Super League , it is intended as the venue for Peshawar Zalmi .
