The Vatan Partisi ( Turkish for "Fatherland Party"; until the beginning of 2015 known as İşçi Partis , Turkish for "Workers' Party") is a left-wing nationalist and Eurasist party in Turkey .
It originally emerged from the Workers 'and Peasants' Party of Turkey (TİKP) and the Revolutionary Workers and Peasants Party of Turkey (TİİKP). It is led by Doğu Perinçek . In the 2002 parliamentary elections , the Labor Party received 0.52% of the vote, and in the 2007 parliamentary elections 0.36%. It will be renamed the Vatan Partisi in February 2015. In the 2018 parliamentary elections , the Vatan Partisi received 0.23% of the vote.
The party is based on the new right-wing populist and pro-Russian movements in Europe and at the same time represents Alexander Dugin's Eurasist ideas . She is also in contact with Dugin. The background to this is the fear that Turkey's integration into the European Union and NATO will endanger the nation's sovereignty.
Structures
The party publishes the daily Aydınlık , the theoretical organ Teori and the popular science monthly Bilim ve Ütopya . The Fatherland Party has the publishing house Kaynak Yayınları , which publishes works by members of the Fatherland Party, Marxist and Kemalist classics as well as works critical of religion . She also runs the television station Ulusal Kanal .
