Coastal Protection Working Group

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Coastal Protection Working Group ( ARGE Küstenschutz ) is an amalgamation of two previously independent companies operating in tug shipping and in the field of maritime services:

Since the takeover of Bugsier by Fairplay, the ARGE has only been formed by companies in the Fairplay group.

The aim of the ARGE Küstenschutz is to ensure optimal and safe protection of the coast in the event of ship accidents. The basis is the German Emergency Towing Concept of the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration . For this purpose, the ARGE operates a fleet of sea-going tugs, including the emergency tugs Nordic , Baltic and Fairplay-25 , pontoons, sea rescue cranes and oil spill-fighting vehicles. ARGE Coastal Protection maintains two boarding teams to support the crew of an injured party in establishing an emergency tow connection or to be able to intervene if the injured party has been abandoned by the crew .
