The Association of Resident Vascular Surgeons and Vascular Medicine (ANG) is an association of vascular surgeons and vascular medicine specialists from the Federal Republic of Germany. The association represents the interests of resident vascular physicians in professional policy. As resident specialists, the members work primarily in the outpatient sector and together treat more than a million patients per year. As evidence - fee - or consulting physician part takes part of the members to the stationary vascular surgical care in hospitals. The legal form is a registered association .
The ANG is closely linked to the much larger German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine , where members of the ANG represent the interests of the resident vascular surgeons on the board and work in specialist commissions for various vascular medicine topics such as phlebology , PAD or quality assurance and patient safety. For many years the work of the ANG was shaped by Thomas Noppeney and Helmut Nüllen, who both published several specialist books on vascular medicine.
As part of the integrated care , the ANG in North Rhine-Westphalia is a contractual partner of a statutory health insurance company for the implementation of outpatient interventions.
Goals and Activities
- Organization and implementation of advanced training events and conferences for vascular surgeons and vascular specialists.
- Improvement of outpatient vascular medical care in Germany.
- Representation of the professional interests of resident vascular surgeons and vascular physicians.
- Support for vascular surgeons and vascular medicine specialists at the branch
