The museum is operated by the Robotic Historical Association in Arboga . The collections range from the first missile developed in Sweden to the armament of the JAS 39 Gripen . In total, the Arboga Robot Museum shows around 25 different missiles from the army, navy and air force in the permanent exhibition. The museum also owns a copy of the first German cruise missile V1 . In addition, aircraft and robot simulators, STRIL equipment and engine equipment will be presented. Arboga has been the center of Swedish missile and rocket development since the 1940s.

In the mid-1940s, studies began in Sweden on various types of guided missiles (missile projectiles), mainly at the Swedish Air Force Agency. The offices of the Army, Navy and Air Force were later merged into one unit in the Office for Armaments and Defense Technology (FMV). The idea generator and driving force behind the development of most Swedish guided missiles was the technical director and chief engineer Tore Edlén . It was also he who coined the word "robot" for Swedish guided missiles. The origin of the word robot is in the Czech word robota , which with, forced labor 'or' forced labor 'can be translated.

Another building in the museum also shows rocket aircraft engines, engine components, and fuel and control systems. The exhibition includes jet engines for the Air Force, Navy and Army, as well as commercial and industrial engines, as well as jet engines from the first de Havilland Goblin II from the 1940s to power the J28 Vampire through to the RM 8 from the 1990s.
