Arbolito is a town in eastern Uruguay .
geography
It is located on the territory of the Cerro Largo department in its sector 10 , south of the department capital Melo in the Cuchilla Cerro Largo . The north-western border of the place forms the Arroyo del Parado , which rises a few hundred meters west of Arbolitos. The source of the Arroyo Laureles lies between Cerro Áspero to the east and the village , while Cerro Feo is located a little further to the south-east . The Arroyo del Campamento, which flows south or east, has its source in Arbolito . The closest larger settlements are Arachania in the northeast and Puntas del Parao in the southwest.

On December 10, 1959, Arbolito was classified in the "Pueblo" category by Law No. 12,665.

Attractions
Near Arbolitos, Aparicio Saravia's younger brother , Antonio Saravia called Chiquito Saravia , was killed in another battle on March 19, 1897, two days after the Battle of the Three Trees ( Combate de Tres Árboles ). A monument can be found here today. There is also a memorial on a hill near Arbolito in memory of Pope John Paul II's visit to Melo in 1988 , who held an open-air mass there at the entrance to the city.
