The German mechanical engineering company Arburg GmbH + Co KG (spelling: ARBURG) is a company belonging to the Hehl and Keinath families and, with its electrical, hybrid and hydraulic plastic injection molding machines, turnkey systems and its industrial additive manufacturing system, is one of the world's industry leaders. With around 2,500 employees in Germany and another 500 worldwide, Arburg serves sales markets for machines with clamping forces from 125 to 6,500 kN .
The machines are used in the production of plastic parts, for example in the automotive industry , communication and entertainment electronics , medical technology , household appliances and the packaging industry. In addition, modular robotic systems and machine peripherals are produced.
Arburg is represented with its own units in 25 countries at 33 locations and through trading partners in more than 50 countries. The central production and administration location is Loßburg in the northern Black Forest , other German locations are the “technology centers” in Radevormwald and Rednitzhembach .
The globally operating Hehl Group posted consolidated sales of 750 million euros in 2018.
Applications
In addition to the standard injection molding processes, special equipment variants are available for the areas of multi-component injection molding , processing of thermoset , elastomer and silicone ( liquid silicone rubber ), gas and water pressure technology ( GIT , WIT ), foaming technology, overmolding of inserts, powder injection molding includes: Metal Injection Molding and Ceramic Injection Molding ) and clean room technology . Arburg also has its own system for additive manufacturing ( Freeformer ) in its range.

- 2000: Inauguration of Arburg II with a further 36,000 square meters of built-up production area - a total of 146,000 square meters
- 2006: All-rounder injection molding machines with a clamping force of up to 5,000 kN
- 2009: Inauguration of the new Arburg customer center
- 2012: 60 years of training at Arburg with 1,500 apprentices
- 2013: Presentation of the additive manufacturing system freeformer ( ARBURG plastic freeforming )
- 2015: Senior boss Eugen Hehl is inducted into the "Plastics Hall of Fame"
- 2016: Inauguration of the new assembly hall at the Loßburg location - expansion to 165,000 square meters
- 2016: Presentation of the Allrounder 1120H with 6,500 kN clamping force with a new design and new control unit "Gestica".
