Archelaos (strategist)

Archelaos ( Greek  Ἀρχέλαος ) was a in the 4th century BC. Living general of Alexander the great .

In December 331 BC Archelaus, son of Theodoros, was appointed strategist of Susiana by Alexander the Great when he left Susa and was given command of 3000 soldiers. He was entrusted with these military agendas to Abulites , the Persian satrap of Susiana, who remained in office. In the distribution of satraps after Alexander's death in 323 BC According to Dexippos , Archelaus was granted the governorship of Mesopotamia , while after Diodorus and Iustinus Arkesilaos became the satrap of Mesopotamia.
