Arcis Saxophone Quartet

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Arcis Saxophone Quartet is a Munich- based chamber music ensemble.

history

The members of the Arcis Saxophone Quartet got together to play ensembles during their studies at the Munich University of Music and Theater in 2009 . They are trained to perform classical music and appear in public with a diverse repertoire. This ranges from arrangements of older works to compositions from the 19th and 20th centuries to contemporary music, in part composed especially for them, which is of particular concern to them.

From 2013 to completing their master’s degree in the summer semester of 2016, they studied chamber music at the Berlin University of the Arts in the class of the Artemis Quartet . The Arcis Saxophone Quartet has been an ensemble of the ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) since 2015 and is artistically sponsored by this institution. The quartet made international debuts with concerts in the hall of the Tschaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow (Sep. 2013) and in the Wigmore Hall in London (Jan. 2016). In November 2016, the Arcis saxophone quartet was presented on ARTE in the program Stars von Morgen with Rolando Villazón .
