Arcoran (deity)

Arcoran (also Acoran) is the highest being in the mythology of the indigenous people of Gran Canaria .

Little is known about the natives. They worshiped several gods and believed in a higher being they called Arcoran. Arcoran temples were built on inaccessible mountains to give him inviolable asylum. A girl (dressed in white leather) made a daily milk offering to him. He is called Achamán on the island of Tenerife .
